Mariana has been making art since she was three years old and her mother gave her tempera paints, newsprint and brushes. She was adopted at three and her new parents gave her a childhood rich in art, music and dance.
She majored in flute performance at UNC Greensboro and spent the first thirty years of her adult life working as a professional classical and jazz musician and teaching flute and piano. Later she started and ran Allegro Caterers and after that Dos Rosas Landscapers, LLC. Mariana enjoys projects – and making them successful. She feels that it is all art.
She now works as an artist full time out of her studio in the home that she shares with her husband, John, and their two dogs, Foxy and Lucy, in the Atlanta area. She paints in watercolor, acrylic and oil, and makes collage and floorcloths. Her work is for sale in shows and exhibits and online at http://marianakramer.com.
She and John lived in Cuernavaca, Mexico, for several years, and still have a home Mariana designed in the village of Ahuatenco, Estado de Mexico, Mexico. She has travelled in Europe, Canada and Latin America and her work sometimes reflects her travels and her love of Hispanic culture.
